Solar Team Twente is a team of ambitious students from Saxion and the University of Twente, with only one goal: winning the World Solar Challenge 2013. A race over 3000km from Darwin to Adelaide across the Australian outback, where only solar energy driven cars compete. This is one of the largest student projects in the Netherlands.
Solar Team Twente tries to build a winning solar car in collaboration with many partners like PM-Aerotec. Solar Team Twente is looking for a relationship where both parties can achieve the best results out of the cooperation. By systematically analyzing the challenge, new opportunities are discovered and addressed so that all parts in the solar car align perfectly.
Working together with companies active in the top of the technology sector, Solar Team Twente aims to build a winning solar car that is powerful in its simplicity with high-tech materials and subsystems.
PM-Aerotec makes a substantial contribution to projects in the defense, aviation, aerospace, semiconductor, optical and medical industries. Years of experience makes PM a valued partner for these industries where innovation plays an key role.
PM processes besides quality steels also materials like titanium and super alloys such as Duplex, Hastelloy, Inconel, Nimonics, and Stelliet. PM offers Solar Team Twente the opportunity to make use of their technical high quality production facility. For Solar Team Twente components are being machined by PM to be used for the suspension of the solar car.
